So, Chelsea on Monday announced that their top striker, Alvaro Morata has joined Atletico Madrid on loan deal until the end of the 2019/20 season.
The Spain international spent a year plus with the Blues, where he made 72 appearances and scoring just 24 goals.
That might sound really poor for a striker plying his trade with one of the top clubs in not just England but in Europe, with the likes of Mo Salah outscoring him.
Morata will now join list of players like Diego Costa, Fernando Torres and Filipe Luis, coming to Stamford Bridge and head back to Atletico Madrid, where he started his career as a teenager.
While at Chelsea, Morata failed to make a mark as the head coach, Sarri resorted to using Eden Hazard as a central striker, restricting Morata’s involvement, despite scoring for the Blues during their 2-0 FA Cup third-round win over Nottingham Forest earlier this month.
Chelsea decided to send the forward on loan until the end of the 2019/20 season but Morata’s twitter update actually tells another story other than just a loan spell.
The 26-year-old took to his official handle to say;
“Thank you, goodbye and good luck.”

One tend to wonder, was Morata trying to tell Chelsea fans goodbye for ever? Obviously, as many fans read meaning to his tweet and reacted.
A fan reacted saying
“You can’t give up on this BLUE…Pick yourself up n come back! Sky is always the limit; have a nice time in Madrid…not saying goodbye but saying goodluck”

Two others added;
“Loan till end of the season and next?? Bruu is gone for ever.
gone like the wind….”

And of course, Chelsea official handle responded saying;
“Best of luck, Alvaro.”

So, Chelsea fans, what do you think?
