After producing one of the biggest upset in the history of boxing this past Saturday night, one would think that the new heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz was probably the highest paid on that night but that has not been the case.

The Mexican boxer won against the Britain’s WBA, IBF and WBO champion, stripping him of his 3 titles by becoming the new boxing heavyweight champion. The clear least favourite to win the fight over the weekend.
According to reports, Ruiz was only paid £5 Million from the fight at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden, while the defeated Joshua made a whopping £20 Million from the fight.
Andy Ruiz the now WBA, IBF and WBO champion was not meant to be on the money list on Saturday night, he was said to have agreed to participate in the fight despite only been given a five weeks notice to the fight after Joshua’s original opponent Jarrell Miller was removed from the equation for failing three drugs tests before the match.
Talk about a true story of the underdog; A man who was never meant to be there in the first place. Majority of the bets were in favour of Anthony Joshua.
Congratulations Andy Ruiz.
The Questions remains, what’s next for Anthony Joshua?
