Quickfire goals from Oleksandr Zinchenko and Roman Yaremchuk helped Ukraine cancel out Joe Aribo and Victor Osimhen first half goal as they secured a 2-2 draw against the Super Eagles of Nigeria during their international friendly game at the Dnipro Arena on Tuesday night.
Nigeria’s sloppy defending caused them to concede two goals in a minute as Ukraine came from 2 goals down to clinch a draw. The Super Eagles threw away a two goal lead as they play out a stalemate after Victor Osimhen and Debutant Aribo got on the scoresheet.
Debutant Joseph Aribo got the Eagles into an early lead, just 3 minutes into the game as he taps home Iwobi’s low cross.
34 minutes on, Samuel Kalu wins a penalty after a beautiful run. Victor Osimhen stepped forward and tucks it in his first national team goal to double the lead for the Eagles.
77 minutes on the clock, Manchester City’s Zinchenko beats Uzoho at his near post to pull one back for Ukraine.
Before Roman Yaremchuk leveled the score for the host as the ball goes into the net off the hand of the Ukraine striker but the referee counts it.
Nigeria were so impressive going forward with Samuel Kalu particularly catching the eye, although Ukraine played with so much pressure on Nigeria’s defense.
