Arsenal look to have secured the signing of Real Madrid’s midfielder, Dani Ceballos on a season-long loan.
Multiple reports confirmed that the Spanish U-21 star will be flying to North London on Tuesday to seal the deal for the loan move to Premier league side, Arsenal.
Dani Ceballos was expected to leave Real Madrid after Zinedine Zidane made a return to managing the Los Blanco side. Ceballos had fallen out of favour with Zidane during his first reign– and the midfielder was never quiet about his lack of game time under the French manager.
Dani was earmaked to be sold before his performances in the just concluded UEFA U21 Championships (which Spain came out triumphant) showed the directors at Madrid that he was still a jewel to be treasured. This changed his departure fate from outright sale to a loan move.
Arsenal however had to fight off strong interests from Champions league finalists and city rivals, Tottenham Hotspur to sign the 21-year-old.
The deal is expected to be one without a buy-clause attached as Dani himself earlier stated in an interview that he sees his future with Laliga giants, Real Madrid.
Dani Ceballos will be tasked with filling the void that Aaron Ramsey has left at Fly Emirates as Unai Emery has promised him the first team football he seeks.
Arsenal face Real Madrid in the wee hours of the morning on Wednesday at the Fedex Field as they both continue their International Champions Cup games.
