The decision was made after Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte announced that all Sporting events in the country will be banned until September, in a bid to curb the effects of Coronavirus.
Rutte explained that Netherlands will not be able to handle risk from Coronavirus in the coming months, as such, all public events are banned (till September), which included football tournaments across the country.
It remains to be seen if other european leagues will follow the path of the Dutch’s unprecedented decision.
However, the German Bundesliga is still widely expected to return on May 9 , while key meetings in the English Premier League and Spanish Laliga are expected in coming days to clarify unswered questions concerning their various suspended leagues.
