Cavani scores twice, send Ronaldo and Portugal out of World Cup

Paris Saint-Germain man, Cavani was on target twice for Uruguay as they secured a 2-1 victory at the Olimpiyskiy Stadion Fisht on Saturday night to send Ronaldo and Portugal out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Uruguay with the first blood just 7 minutes into the game as Suarez
whipped a superb cross to the far post where Cavani rose to head home. The dynamic duo link-up once again and Portugal were behind.

55 minutes into the game, Portugal goes short from a corner and Guerreiro whips a cross into the middle, where Pepe had skinned his marker and heads past Muslera. It is the first goal Uruguay have conceded at this World Cup.

7 minutes later, Cavani scores again to restore the lead for Uruguay. A superb break sees Bentancur feed the ball across to Cavani, who curls superbly into the far corner of the net to give Patricio no chance.
