15 minutes on, they doubled their lead. Sadio Mane set the attack off before some one touch passing between Firmino and Salah completely unlocked the Spartak defence, leaving Coutinho in acres of space to roll the ball home.

The visitors were gifted a spot-kick so early in the game after the Leipzig captain Willi Orban slides into the tackle with Jeremain Lens, but he totally misses the ball and blantantly brings the Besiktas man down and Álvaro Negredo coolly converts the penalty kick.

Leipzig however, equalized in 87th minute. Keita was fortunate to find the ball land perfectly at feet on the edge of the area, he then shifts his feet quickly to beat a defender and then fire the ball into the corner of the net as Zengin rushed out of his goal to try and make the save.

Real Madrid won Borussia Dortmund 3-2

Madrid took the lead just 8 minutes into the game. Ronaldo cuts inside quickly from the left flank and is easily able to skip through a sea of yellow shirts. He then pokes a pass into the box and towards Isco, who moves it on to Mayoral and sets up the young striker to easily beat Burki from close range.

Madrid made it two, four minutes later. Nacho was easily able to skip down the right flank and into a pocket of space before firing a cross into the Dortmund box. It fails to pick out a team-mate before finding Mateo Kovacic, who spins and tees up Ronaldo to curl a beautiful curling strike straight past Burki.

But Dortmund have pulled one back just few minutes before end of first half. Madrid are guilty of over-playing at the back, allowing Schmelzer to pick up the ball in a dangerous position before breaking forward quickly. He then delivers a delightful ball into the box, where it tees up Aubameyang to beat Navas with a wonderful diving header.

Shakhtar Donetsk 2-1 Manchester City

Shakhtar opened scoring in 26th minute. Marlos jinks past several sky blue shirts in midfield and, instead of shooting from the edge of the box, lays it off to Bernard. The little Brazilian’s first touch looked to have killed the attack’s momentum, but he cuts back in onto his favoured right foot and curls and beautiful strike right into the top corner, giving Ederson no chance.

7 minutes on, Shakhtar doubled their lead. Marlos played a wonderful ball over the top to release Ismaily in behind in the channel. Ederson rushes out of his box, but gets nothing, and the left-back can roll the ball into an empty net.
