With the new season upon us and changes at the top of the realm for sides like Arsenal and Chelsea, PFA Young Player of The Year Leroy Sane feels the Blues and Liverpool are the biggest treat his Manchester City side have as they look to defend their perfect Premier League crown this season.
New coach Maurizio Sarri would be looking to put things in place following Chelsea’s poor placing last season which saw them finishing fifth in the league, losing a Champions League spot in the process.
Sane believes the 59 year old would bring the best out of this Chelsea side and ensure that they pose a big treat to Manchester City defending their title this year than any other Side.
When asked who he feels will be Manchester City’s biggest threat to the title this season, he replied Sky Sports News by saying
‘’I think Chelsea, because they have brought a really good coach.’’
He also stated;
“if you had seen how Napoli played last season, it was really, really attractive and really good, we really suffered against them.”
He then concluded by saying;
“They will need some time to get really used to his tactics. They could be really tough. Also Liverpool too they bought really good players. They could be really strong next season.”
The 21 year old was given a real shock as he was left out of the Germany Squad that underachieved in the Fifa World Cup 2018 hosted in Russia but the PFA Young Player of the Year has moved on from the shock and is willing to improve his Club side this season.
“I am looking forward. It has motivated me too. I still want to be on the pitch playing in a World Cup and I will work harder. Of course I was disappointed at the beginning but I tried as soon as possible to leave it behind me and to focus on myself to get mentally stronger and to look forward. Coming back to preseason with my team, I wanted to have full focus on my team and on next season,” he said.
City will face Chelsea at Wembley Stadium in the FA Community Shield as they look to win their first laurel of the season and try to defend their League Title with three other titles up for grabs.
