The German on Wednesday afternoon urged South Africans to educate their youth, stop the killing of innocent people and say no to xenophobic attacks using hashtags.
According to report, the attacks erupted after a South African Taxi driver who was trying to stop drug dealers from selling drugs to kids was allegedly shot dead by a Nigerian.
South Afticans claiming they are tired of drug dealers in the country took laws into their hands and attacked Nigerians, looting and burning down their businesses.
The Chelsea defender took to his official twitter account to say;
“Watching the news about South Africa makes ma very sad. Something like this shouldn’t be happening in 2019. Violence is never a solution. Africa needs love.”
