Emirate FA Cup winners, Chelsea are looking set to offload their first choice keeper, Thibaut Courtois, according to Sky Italia.
The Blues have decided to stop negotiations over the renewal of Courtois’s contract as he has just a year left.
The Belgium international made 46 appearances for the Blues last season but they missed out on Champions League qualification and manager Antonio Conte’s future remains in doubt heading into the summer, with Maurizio Sarri linked to the job.
The 26-year-old ‘keeper has seemingly joined a number of first-team players whose futures are also shrouded in doubt, including Willian, who is understood to want to leave the club if Conte stays, with Manchester United interested.
The Blues are likely to replace Courtois with Roma goalkeeper Alisson.
Courtois recently hinted that his future was uncertain when he said “we’ll see what is going to happen after the World Cup”, following Chelsea’s FA Cup triumph at Wembley.
According to Guillem Balague, the ex-Atletico Madrid star has been a long-term target for their rivals Real, while Paris Saint-Germain have also been keen.
Meanwhile, Alisson at the other end has had an outstanding season at Roma and has been a target for Real Madrid and Liverpool.
Sky Italia report that Chelsea have made an offer for Alisson as they are prepared to sell Thibaut Courtois.
Courtois’ contract at Stamford Bridge runs out in the summer of 2019 and with the player not extending his deal, this summer is the right time to sell him and earn a sum from a sale.
Roma have received an offer for the Brazilian and Chelsea are intent on signing him.
