Manchester City’s dominance paid off as they were victorious over host Everton in Goodison Park.
Manchester City’s control of the game proved vital as they took the lead in the 25th minute as a smooth counter attack was started beautifully by Riyad Mahrez who made way to Everton’s defence and laid off for Kevin De Bruyne who’s beautiful in swinger met Gabriel Jesus’ flying head.
Everton got back into the game in the 33rd minute after a scramble for the ball between Alex Iwobi and the City defenders fell kindly for a free Sheamus Coleman who’s lob off the goalkeeper was headed home to an empty net by Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Man in form Riyad Mahrez put City 2-1 up in the 71st minute from a beautiful Free Kick after Kevin De Bruyne was tripped by Yerri Mina.
Sterling finally got his name on the scoring list as he got his 100th Club goal in the 84th minute as Aguero opened up the defence and took the ball off Mahrez’s feet, took a shot which was bounced of by Pickford and fell for Raheem Sterling whose one time left footed volley cannoned off the top post and crossed the line as goal line technology showed.
The goal gave City a convincing 3-1 victory over a resilient Everton side and put City 5 points behind rivals Liverpool.
