The Corporate Affairs Commission Headquarters,CAC, in Maitama, Abuja was gutted by fire, in the morning of Wednesday, the 15th of April, this is happening weeks after the Office of the the Accountant General of the Federation went up in flames.
According to the tweet posted by the CAC on their Twitter page, it was made known, that the fire started at about 10:20am in the morning, when the an outer unit of a split Air conditioner on the 6th floor in the main building, exploded due to power surge.
The explosion sound attracted the attention of few personnel within the premises and they quickly mobilized to quench the fire.
The CAC also made known that, efforts were made to put off the fire as fire extinguishers and fire hose reels within the building was used to control the fire, although the fire was said to have descended through the AC ducts from the 5th to the 4th floors, which prompted the call to the FCT Fire service.
The Registrar – General of the CAC, Abubakar Garba, however, added that all records and other vital documents and information have not been affected likewise there were no report of casualty following the incident.
Nigerians are hoping this wouldn’t be a reoccurring decimal among government establishment were building are been gutted by fire, owning to the fact that, it was just a week ago, April, 8th when The Treasury House which is the office of the Accountant General of the Federation in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, went up in flames.
The fire started from around the third floor, razing the building upwards including the Accountant General’s office and most of the important offices.
