The good people of Ikeja 1 LG Area of Lagos were full of excitement as Corps Members handed over palliatives to the Chairman of the LGA for onward distribution to the members of the community especially the less privileged.
Items such as; rice, beans, noodles, bread drinks and other food items were distributed during the occasion.
Receiving the items, the Chairman of the LGA, Hon. Engr. Mojeed Balogun thanked the NYSC Lagos State Coordinator, Management and the Corps Members for their kind gesture in reaching out to the less privileged among them to cushion the effect of Covid-19 pandemic.
He also appreciated the selfless services rendered by Corps Members within his Council area and promised to ensure that the Corps Members will continue to recieve special attention from his council as and when needed.
The Chairman equally appealed to Lagosians to protect and assist Corps Members at all times.
In his address, the Lagos State Coordinator of NYSC, Eddy Megwa thanked the Chairman and members of the community for giving the Corps Members a conducive environment to serve their father land, which enabled them to give back to the society during this Corona Virus pandemic.
The Coordinator who called on members of the community to always observe the Covid-19 protocol for their protection, equally said NYSC would continue to partner with the State Government and all LGAs to ensure that the dreaded pandemic becomes history.
