Nigeria businessman, philanthropist and former chairman of Forte oil Plc, Femi Otedola, has promised the sum of 5 billion naira as his donation to Save the Children, an intervention fund to support children suffering in the North-Eastern of Nigeria.
The fund raising event which was organised by the popular DJ Cuppy, save a child in Nigeria, turned out to be a huge success as the likes of Alhaji Aliko Dangote donated the sum of 100 million naira and Femi Otedola, Cuppy’s Father also made a handsome donation of 5 billion naira to support the cause.
The donation of Femi Otedola was announced by one his daughters, Tolani Otedola, at the #cuppygoldgala, which took place in Abuja, today the 10th of November, 2019.

The donations made so far, will be one of the largest charitable donations made since the history of Nigeria, the event had dignitaries from all works of life donating to save a Child.

The Cuppy Foundation, Save the Children, is a non-profit organisation founded by Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, and is one of the largest foundation in the world aside Unicef, that focuses on the well being of children.

Chief executive Officer of the charity, Kevin Watkins, gave his assurance that all monies donated will be properly spent in improving the lives of children affected by insurgency in the north-east region.
Amongst dignitaries who graced the occasion were, the Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Adams Oshiomhole, National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bukola Saraki, former Senate president, Babagana Kingibe, Former Secretary to the government of the Federation and Bola Shagaya, billionaire businesswoman.
Also governors present at the occasion are; Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Babagana Zulum (Borno), and Dapo Abiodun (Ogun).
Femi Otedola has been known for his philanthropic nature as he has donated generously to various persons and institutions across the nation.
He has given donations to Lagos state College of primary education, Centre mosque in Ilorin, given scholarships to Lagos State undergraduates, helped in the completion of the National Ecumenical Centre in Abuja to mention but few.
Also, Otedola has made live – saving donations to the likes of: Christian Chukwu, former captain and coach of Super Eagles, Peter Fregene, former international goalkeeper, Reggea Singer Majek Fashek and others.
