Ighalo signed a three year deal worth about 15m euros and revealed that his former boss, Flores made the deal possible.
The Nigerian striker will reunite with Flores from their Watford days where they both made history, winning the English Premier League player and manager of the month awards for December 2015 – the first time anybody from the club had received either honour.
Ighalo took to his official twitter handle to reveal his new jersey number at the club saying;
“Destiny child on assignment”
Ighalo joined Shenhua’s diverse and eclectic no 9 club alongside previous holders such as Luis Salmeron, Dady, Demba Ba and Hamilton Ricard.
His new club were ranked seventh last season with 30 points behind league winners Shanghai SIPG.
Ighalo finished as the CSL’s second top scorer with 21 goals, but wasn’t enough to save his former club, Changun Yatai, from relegation.
