One Oti Leonard, a petroleum inspector has taken to social media to reveal how he was picked up early this morning by the disbanded police unit – SARS.
Hitvibz gathered that the incident occurred along the Alcon bridge by Gulf Estate in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital around 6:55a.m, after the young man dropped his lover off.
His lover, who earlier raised alarm on Twitter said;
“@segalink @PoliceNG did you say SARS has been disbanded? Well my boyfriend just dropped me off along the Alcon bridge by Gulf estate PH. There was a keke parked wrongly so he overtook them and parked in front which was a safe spot to park. Not long a car pulled over with 2 men.”

Few hours after his release, Oti Leonard took to the social media platform to narrate how the SARS men tagged him a kidnapper and demanded the sum of 300 thousand naira for his release.
He wrote;
“Hey guys, I have been released now, I am heading back home. They drove me round town firstly saying I am a kidnapper and I was parked at a spot where they kidnapped one Doctor Boms and I am suspect. They drove me round town. After showing them my I.D, my papers etc.”

“They took me to an unknown destination, bared me from taking or making calls and insisted I give them my phone. They asked me to pay 300k for my release if not they will detain me, they were lamenting on the SARS ban saying we caused it.”

Adding that;
“I asked them to allowed me call my family and my lawyer they refused and I asked them to take me to the station. Already they also held my car particulars and my wallet and I asked to sit at the back. The vehicle they used to stop me at Alcon drove off.”

“They handcuffed me and said we have to go to an ATM for me to pay my bail fee of 300k whilst we were on it they got a call Via radio and the officer was giving a description of me and my car on radio I think at that point they have received a signal from the office.”

Oti Leonard further stressed that;
“They threatened to shoot me if I continue to be hard on them, they took me to an ATM where I finally gave them 5k for my release they threatened to come after me if i escalate the issue. Finally they drove me to PH shopping mall and asked me to leave there immediately.”

“Thank God I am home now, thanks to you all for your tweets and calls that came through. If you had not done this who knows what would have happened. But we won’t stop fighting them. We all have to be alert now they are hunting protesters.”
