Cant post any updates on Facebook, unable to login to Instagram, WhatsApp pictures not sending? Don’t worry its not you.
Some 24 hours ago Social media Giant Facebook and Instagram users were and are still caught in a server glitch the resulted in millions around the world not being able to update or post anything on either of the platforms.Some took to YouTube to make videos and express their sadness and the discomfort of not having Instagram newsfeed or not being able to play their games due to not being able to login to a game via Facebook. While others joined the #FacebookDown on twitter.
Facebook live outage map for Europe and America suggested that initially 34% were unable to log in to their accounts, 33% percent can’t access their news-feed and 32% were experiencing a total blackout.
At the time of this report, the problem has began to spread across other continents around the world.
In a statement released by Facebook a few hours ago, they said;
We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible
Facebook later again took to their twitter page to reassure users that they were working hard to resolve the issue and to confirm that the issue was not related to a Distributed denial of service attack (DDoS) as rumoured or suspected.
We’re focused on working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, but can confirm that the issue is not related to a [denial-of-service] attack.
Other Facebook family apps like Instagram and WhatsApps are also affected. Earlier i tried sending photos on WhatsApp to my Boss Kris but the photos would not send.
A couple of hours later the photos finally went through.
As of the time of posting this story there is still no new information as to what might have caused this issue across all three major apps owned by Facebook.
My wild guess would include, Server down, Bug issues after an update or a new feature gone rouge.
