The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps’ (NSCDC) dump yard in Iriebe, Rivers State, has been destroyed by fire.

According to an eyewitness, the fire began with an explosion and quickly spread to the parked automobiles in the yard.

The eyewitness disclosed that the fire destroyed around 30 impounded trucks laden with petroleum goods.

Firefighters reportedly arrived at the scene later.

The source of the incident is yet unknown, and no casualties have been reported.

When contacted, the state’s new NSCDC spokesperson said the agency would respond to the event as soon as possible.
