In the early hours of today 5th November, 2019, popular Balogun Market in Lagos mainland caught fire as many properties were destroyed, weeks after there was a fire outbreak in Onitsha, Anambra state.
According to reports, the fire started in the early hours of the morning on a multi-story building, housing many shops at the market.
Properties were burnt to the ground, while some shop owners whose properties were still safe from the blaze at the moment, starting throwing their goods through the window of the building in a bid to save them from the fire.
It was a scene that caused so most pain and heartache to the store owners as they watched the fire devour their livelihood helplessly without firefighters around to attempt to put out the fire.
After many hours of the fire burning down properties, firefighters later arrived at the scene as they battle to stop the fire from spreading more into the market and causing more damage.
As of the time of writing this report, the cause of the fire is still unknown as investigation on what the cause might be will commence soon.
