There is now a confirmed coronavirus disease(COVIR-19) case in Lagos State, Nigeria, by the Federal Ministry of Health in the country.
According to the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire in a statement issued in the early hours of Friday said the case, which was confirmed on February 27, was the first case to be reported in Nigeria.
Ehanire in his statement said that the case came from an Italian citizen who works in Nigeria and had returned from Milan, Italy to Lagos Nigeria on the 25th of February 2020. He was said to have been confirmed of carrying the virus at the Virology Laboratory Network of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
According to him, the patient is clinically stable, with no serious symptoms, and is being handled well at the Hospital. He also mentioned that the ministry is tracking down the people the victim had come in contact with and will get them tested also.
The Federal Ministry of Health also realised an online statement.
