Addressing Government House Correspondents after a Security Council meeting on Tuesday, Governor Fubara highlighted the importance of the meeting, prompted by unsettling reports from various local government areas, Hitvibz reports.

According to the governor, certain individuals are allegedly plotting to invade council secretariats following the expiration of local government chairmen’s tenures.

“We are aware that our enemies are planning a lot of things, but we will not fall into that plot where we will allow them to destroy the prevailing peace in the state,” Governor Fubara stated emphatically.

Authorities will have to pass through me to arrest them because none of those following us have done anything other than stand on the side of the truth,” he declared.

Governor Fubara expressed his commitment to standing up for truth and justice, even at great personal risk.

If it will cost us our lives to stand on the path of truth, we will do that, and I will be the one to lead this cause,” he said passionately.

He affirmed the legal mandate concerning the tenure of the chairmen, which led to his directive for Heads of Local Government Administration to assume control in the interim.
