Rivers State Governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ezenwo Nyesom Wike on Friday morning received a man who trekked a long distance to Government House to celebrate his victory after he emerged winner of the governorship election in the state.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday declared the Rivers State Governor, Wike, winner of the governorship election in the state.
The Returning Officer for the election, Teddy Adias, made the declaration at the head office of INEC in Port Harcourt, saying that Wike polled 886,264 votes, while his African Alliance Congress counterpart, Biokpomabo Awara, gathered 173,859 votes.
Mr Precious Umasoye Macforex, a media practitioner and motivational speaker decided to trek all the way from Ahoada to Rivers State Govt House in Port Harcourt, the state capital to celebrate the incumbent governor’s victory.
Mr Precious, who left Ahoada (located northwest of Port Harcourt) on Foot in the early hour of Thursday was spotted in Emohua Council Secretariat, Choba bridge and Rumuokoro Junction, where he diverted to Ikwerre Road.
He finally arrived government house on Friday morning and was greeted by His Excellency, governor Wike who expressed joy to see a young man take so much step to celebrate his re-election victory.
