Gubernatorial Election: Women, youths protest over killing, rigging in Rivers [Photos]
Information reaching Hitvibz.com states that women and youths said to be supporters of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State have taken to the street of Oyigbo LGA to protest over Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) decision to cancel the 2019 gubernatorial election in the state.
INEC halted collation of result in the state on Sunday, citing cases of violence at polling stations, kidnapping of staff, and destruction of results.
On Monday morning, women and youths from Oyigbo decided to protest against the suspension of the governorship elections in the area following disruption to vote.
One of the playcard carried by the protesters says INEC should declare Wike as Governor, adding that he won the governorship election.
While another reads that Oyibgo women says no to politics of bloodshed.
The women took to the street to also protest over the killing of their son during the election, one Master Chijioke Marvis.
