A group of unknown gunmen have attacked and set the Ehime Mbano Local Government Area Divisional Police Headquarters in Imo State on fire.
Sources said the gunmen invaded the police station, shooting sporadically and later set the station on fire.
It was gathered that the operation lasted for over 45 minutes on Tuesday evening without resistance.
They also freed suspects who were detained at the facility, according to media reports.
“No casualty on the part of police, no loss of arms but three vehicles were burnt in the process,” spokesperson of the Imo State Police Command, SP Orlando Ikeokwu, told the News Agency of Nigeria.
