Harry Kane with a brace as England beat Tunisia

Harry Kane was the star man during their 2018 World Cup opener, bagged a brace as England defeated Tunisia 2-1 on Monday night at the Volgograd Arena.

The defender powered an effort towards the top corner. Hassen made a fine save, but Kane was there to pounce on the rebound to convert.

35 minutes on, Walker smacks Ben Youssef in the head with his left arm while battling for a cross. The Tunisian player collapses to the ground and the referee points to the spot. VAR had no objections and neither do most England players. Walker gets a yellow. Sassi stepped forward, beats Pickford, who guesses correctly to make it 1-1.

90′ + 1′ Harry Kane breaks the heart of Tunisia as he diubled his tally of the night with a well-placed header from close range. He may have won the game for his team at the death. Trippier’s corner was headed to the back post by Maguire where Kane was lurking without the presence of a Tunisia defender. He only had Ben Mustapha to beat and he directed his effort beyond the reach of the keeper into the net.
