The members of the House of Representatives Committee on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDCC) probe, were left in anger after the acting managing director of Interim Management Committee(IMC) and (NDDC) Professor Kemebradikumo Pondei and his team on Thursday walked out on them.
According to reports, Pondei claimed that he and his team were not prepared to make any presentation before the committee, this came after he had objected to Chairman of the Committee, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, presiding over the investigative hearing, insisting he cannot preside over a matter in which he is also part of the people accused of embezzling funds.
The acting MD was told by the Members of the Committee, including Benjamin Kali, Ben Ibakpa, and Shehu Koko, that he is constitutionally bound to answer them without the availability of the documents.
The acting MD walked out on the committee while the members were still making a contribution to the issue, after seeking permission to leave, but he left without getting a response from them.
This angered the committee members as they ordered for his arrest, before going further to unanimously pass a vote of confidence on its Chairman.
It is also now confirmed that the House of Representatives have issued a warrant for the arrest of Acting MD of NDDC Kemebradikumo Pondei, IMC members.
