Real Madrid on Tuesday night, took a two-goal advantage into the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash after beating Liverpool 3-1 at the Alfredo Di Stefano.
Goals in the first half from Vinicius Junior and Marco Asensio put Los Blancos in command.
Mohamed Salah responded after the break for the Reds, notching a vital away and only goal for the Reds.
But, Vinicius fired home a second goal to leave Zinedine Zidane’s men in a position of strength heading to Anfield next week.
Moments after the game, some of the Madrid players couldn’t wait to express their joy and satisfaction over the win against the former Champions.
Below is how they all reacted;
According to Lucas Vazquez;
“We went out very motivated from the first minute, with clear ideas, knowing what we were playing for and how to play for it.”
Marco Asensio noted;
“I’m very happy for another goal and for the win. It was an important match for us. We are very happy but this isn’t over, we still have the second leg. It was a great night and it gives us a lot of confidence.”
Vinicius Junior said;
“I’m very happy to have been chosen as the best player of the match and happy for the team’s performance! Thanks so much, we still have 90 minutes left.”
While Zidane added that;
“It’s a fair result, I am happy for the players because they put in in an incredible effort.”
Meanwhile, Madrid will face another crunch game at the weekend as they battle Barcelona in El Clasico at home while Liverpool will take on Aston Villa at home as well in their Premier League tie on Saturday.
