The new Laliga Santander season kicks off today at the San Mames stadium with Bilbao playing host to defending champions, Barcelona.

Catalan giants, Barcelona will be resuming their title defence without the availability of key man, Lionel Messi.
The Uefa player of the year nominee has failed to make their trip to Bilbao due to injury.
Messi suffered a calf injury when he returned from holiday, and it kept him away from Barça’s pre season games.
The Blaugrana side’s coach, Ernesto Valverde further confirmed the absence of the number 10 by not including him in his squad for the match against his former club.
This will be the first time the five times Balon D’or winner will be missing Barcelona’s league opener since 2009.
Other first team players excluded from the 19-man Barcelona squad are Arturo Vidal, Arthur Melo and new GK, Neto, who’s out with hamstring injury.
Meanwhile, new arrivals, Antoine Griezmann, De Jong and Junior will be all be looking to make their official debuts for the club.
