Good news coming from Barcelona is the return of their star man, and FIFA The Best winner, Lionel Messi along side French forward, Ousmanne Dembele.
Lionel Messi has been very scarce in Barcelona’s set up this season due to a prolonged injury he suffered during their pre-season days in the United States.
Messi first appeared for Barcelona this season in their opening Champions League group stage match against Dortmund, where he made a substitute appeareance.
He was subbed off at half time in their narrow win to Villarreal and made subsitute appearance in Barça’s loss to Granada before returning to the injury table.
The FIFA The Best winner’s romance with injury this season has rubbed off on Barca, with the Catalan giants sitting fourth on Laliga log after losing two games already and could only manage a draw against Dortmund in UCL thanks to Ter Stegen’s penalty heroics.
With match day two of Champions League coming up tomorrow and first El clasico of the season at the corner, it is essential for Ernesto Valverde that Lionel Messi returns back to full fitness and form.
Pictures from their training sessions today showed the Argentine and the very injury prone French forward, Dembele joining with group work.
Reports however suggested that they both didn’t take part in the full session but it’s a sign that both attackers will soon be very much available for Varlvede.
The likes of Samuel Umtiti, Jordi Alba and Ansu Fati however remain injured and ruled out for the time being.
Barcelona welcome Inter Milan at the Camp Nou on Wednesday and will hope to put in a better performance than they did against Dortmund.
