Zinedine Zidane has reacted to his side’s poor Champions League display against club Brugge by making a good number of changes to his match day squad.
Real Madrid welcome surprise Laliga outfits, Granada this afternoon at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium. And Zidane named a 19 man squad that exempted the unimpressive Lucas Vazquez, Vinicius Jnr and goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois (who’s said to have stomach issues) to prosecute the game
Meanwhile, Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez, Rodrygo and Gareth Bale all returned to Real’s match day squad after the trio failed to make the list for the UCL game.
Real Madrid are also going to be without a natural left back for the game after Marcelo returned back to the injury table to join Nacho Fernandez and a recovering Ferland Mendy.
With Los Blancos’ poor display on Tuesday night, a major shake up is expected in the starting line up with Areola certain to be in goal. It remains to be seen if Luka Modric, and Eden Hazard will be in the starting line up as they were poorly rated against Brugge.
Real face a Granada side who came from Laliga’s second division to sit second on the log table, with just a point separating both sides.
Granada has performed way above expectations so far in the league winning four, which included a 2-0 win against Barcelona and drawing two. Their only loss after seven games played is against Sevilla, who Real Madrid were able to beat at their backyard.
Granada will be hoping to add to Zidane’s woes while Santiago Bernabeu faithfuls will be expecting an apologetical display from their side to make up for Tuesday night.
