Manchester United climbed out of the bottom half of the Premier League table with a 3-1 win against Norwich City at Carrow Road.
The Red Devils claimed their first win since beating Leicester at home and climbing to 8th on the log, thanks to goals from McTominay and Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, despite Tim Krul proving very stubborn with two penalty saves.
United got their first real chance in the 18th minute with a good interchange between Rashford and Martial, the English striker hit a ground shot but Tim Krul blocked easily with his leg.
Tim Krul made a stupendous save to deny Anthony Martial’s near-post header but McTominay still managed to score the game’s first goal after Norwich failed to clear from the resulting corner kick.
The goal which came in the 21st minute made Manchester United to become the first club to score 2000 Premier league goals.
VAR awarded a controversial penalty to the red devils 6 minutes later for a supposed infringement on Daniel James.
Marcus Rashford stepped up to double their lead but Tim Krul did what he knew how to do best to deny the forward.
Rashford eventually got his pound of flesh in the 30th minute when he was picked out perfectly by Daniel James, he did well this time around to beat Krul for his 50th Man United goal.
Just before half time, United got a second penalty after VAR reviews showed Cantwell handled Fred’s shot in the box.
Anthony Martial stepped up this time around, but penalty stopper, Tim Krul was unperturbed as he pulled off another great save to deny the French man.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men could’ve been five goals up at half time, had it not been for the heroics of the Super Man goalkeeper.
Second half started with Martial having another glorious chance to score but he still met his nemesis in goal.
But the French man’s goal eventually came in the 72nd minute. He went on a counter attack which involved a brilliant interchange with Rashford before he rounded off Krul for United’s 3rd.
Norwich’s consolatory goal came via substitute, Hernandez, who capitalized on McTominay’s defensive laps in the 88th minute to beat De Gea in goal.
3-1 it ended at Carrow as the Manchester side ended their 8 games winless run in the league.
