Manchester United has confirmed the signing of ex Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo from Chinese side, Shanghai Shehua.
In what is described as a shocking deadline day transfer, the former Super Eagles and Watford player signed for the premier league side on loan.
The 30-year-old scored 16 Premier League goals in 55 matches– winning one player of the month award– and 40 goals in 100 appearances in all competitions while playing for fellow EPL side, Watford.
Speaking on the transfer, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insinuated that the 2019 African Cup of Nations top scorer was snapped to offer his side a different option in the attacking front.
Ighalo, who confessed to being a Red devil in 2016 has 131 goals from 322 career games which included 16 goals in 35 international appearances.
Odion Ighalo will become the first Nigerian professional to play for the Red Devils.
