Reports emanating from Germany suggested that the German Bundesliga will return to action May 9, to conclude the 2019/2020 season.
Football across europe and the world at large had been on standstill following the outbreak of Coronavirus. But the German Bundesliga are expected to become the first top flight European league to return to action–with May 9, 2020 date being set as return date baring any setbacks.
This latest development in Bundesliga came, just two weeks after giants, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund returned to field trainings whilst maintaining social distance on the pitch.
However, the league will be needing clearance to resume from the German health department.
Bundesliga organisers will also be revealing formats on how the season will be completed when play resumes, as games are expected to be played behind closed doors.
