Barcelona Presidential Candidate, Victor Font has aired his displeasures over the affairs of the Catalan club after they lost Laliga title to Real Madrid.

Spanish Business man, Victor Font i Manté, who is currently the only opposition to Josep Bartomeu’s re-election as Barcelona President has declared that the club is on a downward spiral, and risk “becoming the new Manchester United and AC Milan”.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Euro Leagues podcast, Victor Font stated that Barca are on the brink of becoming “one of the most successful clubs in Europe that is now not able to compete for the top titles”.
“Competition over the last decade has become more and more professional’
“You see in the Premier League with clubs well managed, and even states owning clubs to put in a lot of money at a time where the finance of the club and economic model is stretched to the limit.”
“Unless we do what we are trying, Barca has the risk of becoming a new AC Milan or a Manchester United.” He said.
Font, who is believed to have started a project to revamp Barcelona since 2013, explained further that the club is struggling to replace its core players, renovating the stadium and check-mating the negative effects of Coronavirus Pandemic– while stating unequivocally that “Lionel Messi is unhappy”.
“He (Messi) is unhappy and doubting what to do next”
“He is probably a bit frustrated year after year he is not able to win, especially the Champions League. That’s where the focus needs to be”.
“We want to ensure he understands if we were to run the club from next summer onwards, we would put all the conditions to equip him in the best possible way so the last years of his career here he can still aspire to win a couple of Champions Leagues.” Victor Font concluded.
Lionel Messi made his displeasures known after their loss to ten-man Osasuna at Camp Nou, handing Real their 34th league title.

The Argentine captain stated that Barça risk elimination from Champions League at the hands of Napoli, if there’s no change in their pattern of play and lackluster performance.
