James Rodriguez, will be joining forces with Carlo Ancelloti for the third time in his career, after sealing a move from Real Madrid to Everton.
Everton has continued to bolster their squad for the new Premier league season by acquiring the services of Hamez. He signed a three-year deal worth four million pounds.
Ancelloti first signed the Colombian star while managing Real Madrid, after the 2014 World Cup. James only managed to be an important part of Madrid’s set up for three seasons. He lost his place a season after Ancelloti was relieved of his duties.
Carlo re-signed him as Bayern’s boss on a two-year loan deal. Despite making 67 appearances, scoring 15 goals with 20 assists which led to five titles; the Bavarians failed to activate his €42 million purchase option.
Real made him remain at the club but things only went from bad to worse for the 29 year-old. He barely featured (8 apps) in Zinedine Zidane’s league title winning side.
Everton are believed to have snatched James from his numerous suitors for a fee in the region of £22 million pounds.
James made 125 appearances for Real Madrid in total, scoring 37 goals with 42 assists (according to Transfermarkt).
In that period, he won nine (9) titles with Real, and was awarded Laliga Midfielder of the year in his first season.
