Atletico Madrid and Barcelona has reached a truce for the signing of Uruguayan striker, Luis Suarez.
According to Spanish media outlet, Cadena Ser, Barça has finally agreed to sell Suarez for an undisclosed fee to Atletico.
Luis Suarez was initially pushing for a free transfer away from Catalonia, but his move to Juventus fell through, due to his inability to acquire Italian Citizenship in time.
Atletico then registered their interest on the striker, but the move was blocked by Barça, as they didn’t want to sell to a direct rival.
However, now that the Rojiblancos have loaned out their first choice striker, Alvaro Morata, to Juventus, with an option to buy, they to have successfully acquired their target who’s expected to sign for two years.
Barcelona are experiencing a change in squad under new manager, Ronald Koeman.
With Ivan Rakitic, Arthur and Arturo Vidal already out of the club, Luis Suarez and Nelson Semedo are one step away from leaving the five times UEFA Champions League winners.
Since joining the Laliga giants from Liverpool in 2014, Suarez scored 197 goals in 283 appearances.
