Haaland opened the scoring with a clinical finish just before the half-hour mark and Guerreiro was on target a couple of times, either side of Hazard’s breakaway goal in what turned out to be a one-sided derby at Signal Iduna Park.
Dortmund, who remain in second place, are now just a point behind Bayern Munich ahead of the champions’ game in hand against Union Berlin on Sunday.
Schalke are now winless in eight league matches as they drop down to eighth.
Shortly after the game, the Dortmund forward – Erling Braut Haaland took to his official twitter page to express joy, saying he’s happy to be back to action.
