Leicester City winger, Ahmed Musa has expressed his delight after he became the first Nigerian to score at two World Cups.

Musa, who bagged a brace against Iceland became the highest scoring Nigerian at the FIFA World Cup with four goals, two more than Emmanuel Amuneke and Kalu Uche.

He also becomes the first Nigerian to score at two consecutive world cups after netting twice against Argentina at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

“I’m very happy to break the record; for me, being the highest Nigerian goal scorer at the World Cup, it’s a moment I can never forget,” he said.

Musa praised Coach Gernot Rohr for putting his trust in him to deliver for the country and his teammates for all their support.

“I want to thank my coach for putting so much faith in me by starting me in the game and I’m happy I was able to repay him with the goals. I also want to thank my teammates for all their support and hopefully, we will complete the job against Argentina next Tuesday,” Musa said.
