Our commitments regarding the level of enrichment were revised, and we are reducing our commitments starting today.
This was the comment put out by Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi on behalf of the Iranian Government on Sunday 07/07/2019. This is to confirm that Iran’s uranium enrichment level passes the 2015 deal amid deadlock with the US and Europe.
This comes amid serious confrontation between the United States and Iran for two years since President Trump took office and pulled the United States out of the JCPOA agreement after accusing Tehran of breaching the terms of the Agreement.Europe has been slow to react to this news with some of the heavy super powers of Europe not commenting on the situation while others like Britain has sent their foreign sectary over to Iran and the President of France has expressed his concern and urged all parties involved to return to the table and explore a more diplomatic solution to this unstable situation. However Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi stated on Sunday that Iran will no longer recognize the hard-fought JCPOA framework of the P5+1, under which nuclear negotiations were held between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – the US, China, France, Russia, and UK and Germany. The minister said that while Tehran is open to suggestions on reviving the nuclear agreement, Washington is welcome to join in only if it lifts all sanctions placed on Iran.
This is quickly becoming a pseudo war between the United States and Iran with Europe playing the referee.
