Popular and iconic Bollywood actor, Khan Irrfan, known for his work predominantly in the Hindi cinema and also internationally for his professionalism in acting, is dead, he died at the of 53, on Wednesday, of a colon infection.
Irrfan Khan was an iconic Indian actor who featured in various bollywood movies and was known internationally for his hit roles in the, ‘life of Pi’, ‘Slumdog millionaire’, and ‘The amazing Spider-Man’ he died at the age of 53, news of his death was confirmed by his publicist.
In the 2018, Khan was diagnosed of a neuroendocrine tumor and then admitted to a hospital in Mumbai, he also underwent treatment in London for about a year and returned to India in February 2019.
Before his death on Wednesday, he lost his mother, Saeeda Begum four days ago, on the 25th of April, 2020.
According to media reports Khan spent his final hours here on earth in the surrounding arms of his loved ones, whom he loved and cared for the most.
His publicist through a statement, stated that “It’s saddening that this day, we have to bring forward the news of him passing away, Irrfan was a strong soul, someone who fought till the very end and always inspired everyone who came close to him”.
Khan was born in the Indian desert state of Rajasthan on January 7, 1967, Khan discovered an early passion for acting and studied at the elite National School of Drama. Soon after that, he started his acting career.
He then played supporting and character roles for more than a decade, in 2004 he got a leading role in a film tiled Haasil, which got him his first awards.
After which he gained National recognition in other award nomination role and winning films ; life in A….. Metro and the Lunchbox, he won eight Academy awards and seven BAFTA awards.
He also featured in international films and won Golden Globes and Academy awards in his supporting role in ‘Jurassic World’ ,’ Inferno’ and ‘The Amazing Spider man’ .
Irrfan Khan will be missed by many, his fans in India and also internationally, he is survived by his Wife, a television producer, Sutapa Sikdar and his sons Babil and Ayan.
