The notorious kidnap kingpin popularly known as Wadume was alleged to have given a confession stating that he had a lot of soldiers on his payroll.

The Kidnap lord whose real name is Omotayo Yusuf – Hamisu Bala according to a source in the Nigerian police force has confessed to paying soldiers at checkpoint the sum of N20,000 and also revealing that he had paid an undisclosed amount of money to an army captain, Tijani Balarabe, three weeks prior to his arrest, escape and then rearrest.
This confession came after Wadume was re-arrested by the Nigerian police force – following the first attempt to arrest him which was thwarted by soldiers who were alleged to be Balarabe’s boys.
We all remember the reports of the incident where soldiers killed three policemen who had apprehended Omotayo from his hide out on the 6th of August 2019. According the source Omotayo confessed that his escape was spearheaded under the directives of Captain Balarabe who later took him to his house where he invited a welder to remove the handcuffs.
Wadume was arrested again on the 19th of August at Layin Mai Allo Hotoro area of Kano state.
The police have stated that they have discovered a lot of well connected Nigerians who are linked with the kidnap kingpin and would continue to investigate further on the issue.
