Vado the Great is back! Kizz Daniel takes us on a roller coaster of love with his newly released 17 tracked album titled King of Love.
Ever since Kizz Daniel broke out with monster hit Woju in 2014, he has been on a mission of giving his fans nothing but good music.
He claims to have no bad songs and truly if we look at it, he’s actually right with that claim.
But then, I would like to take you guys on an in-depth review of the KOL album. Its exactly one week since the album dropped, I have listened thoroughly and personally this is my own review on the KOL album.
‘Jaho’ Produced by DJ Coublon talks about “Self love”, It comes with a lot of positive spirituality. Accept who you are, have a good self esteem and things will fall in place.
‘We Won Comot’ Produced by Krizbeatz talks about enjoying your life after hustling. “We want comot” means we going out. A mid temp song that will grow on fans. 6/10.
‘Ada’ (prod. by DJ coublon & young John)…sounds like a sampled Woju song from the begining. Kizz Daniel prophesied his love for his girl “Ada” on this tune. This would do well for Owambe parties. 6/10.
‘Boys Are Bad’ Produced by PhilKeyz and DJ Coublon is about being insecure in a relationship. Personally I felt BAB sounds like a song you add to an already completed album.
Nothing special if you ask me. DJ’s will use the “Ayamija” part to some extent but that’s all to it. 5/10.
‘Aii’ also produced by Krizbeatz talks about “Long Distance Love”. It preaches that no matter how far one’s spouse is, True love can keep them together. Nice production, wonderful chorus. 7/10.
‘Pak n Go’ produced by DJ Coublon is about “Expensive Love”. The song preaches that Love shouldn’t be a burden to lovers. If a lover is becoming too expensive to maintain, show them the exit door.
Chek!…I’m guessing that Kizz secretly recorded this song for the Igbo people. The sound, lyrics and tempo paints a picture of people dancing in a traditional settings…to me.
It’s an up tempo song that would grow on his fans. I don’t think there will a video for it tho. 6/10.
‘Find a bae’ is a smooth song if you ask me. The instrumental, lyrical set up and feels makes it very sweet to the ears. A video will make this an instant hit. Plus it’s easy to mime and sing along. 8/10.
Hook is more or less like a freestyle. It’s something to have fun with and the Lamba “Mo ti hook e” will be used by fans for a while. The beats and composition is okay too. If this doesn’t get a video, a lot of people won’t even know it exists. 6/10.
‘Need Somebody’ produced by Major Bangz and TeeY Mix talks about being alone in love. To be truly loved is to be loved by someone who’s afraid of loosing you. Good song. 5/10.
All other songs on the album like Tempted to steal, Chana, Padi, Pipa are also good songs. I mean they’re not bad but they just ain’t on the next LEVEL that I felt Kizz Daniel has attained.
The industry is moving at a different and unpredictable pace than ever and top artistes like Davido, Wizkid, Burna boy and the rest are now experimental with their sounds.
The new skool cats (Joeboy, Fireboy, Omah Lay and co) are doing the same and the fans are loving it. Kizz Daniel shouldn’t be left behind, it’s advisable he moves ahead from “No bad songs” to “Great songs only”.
N:B songs dropped before the album wasn’t rated.
KOL album: 6/10.
