Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubamenyang were both on target to help Arsenal complete a fine comeback to secure a 2-2 draw against Tottenham during their North London derby at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday evening.
10 minutes into the game, Eriksen taps home from close range to give Spurs 1-0 lead. The visitors took the lead after hitting the Gunners on the counter. Son released the run of Lamela through on goal and he strikes a right-footed effort towards the target.
It was a tame strike, but Leno could only palm the ball out straight to Eriksen. The Dane accepts the gift and converts from close range.
Arsenal’s goalkeeper, Bernd Leno made a couple of saves to deny Eriksen and Son Heung-min before Spurs were awarded a penalty thanks to a horrid challenge by Granit Xhaka on Son and Harry Kane converted the spot-kick to double his team’s advantage.
Before first half break, Lacazette finished brilliantly on his left foot to hand Unai Emery’s men a lifeline.
71 minutes on, Aubameyang strikes to pull Arsenal back on level terms. Guendouzi lifted a brilliant ball over the top of the Tottenham defence and the striker times his run to perfection. Aubameyang touches it beyond to the side of Lloris and into the left-bottom corner.
Points shared a piece at the Emirate but I’m sure Unai Emery and his men will be satisfied with the comeback than losing all 3 points to their bitter rival.
