Nigerian highlife music legend Dr Victor Abimbola Olaiya has finally gone to rest at the age of 90 (Ninety).
The “Baby jowo” crooner, who was born on the 31st of December 1930 died late hours of Wednesday 12th February 2020.
Dr victor Olaiya was a famous Nigerian trumpeter who played in the highlife style.
He also featured multiple award winning music star Tuface Idibia in his “Baby Jowo” remix.
The Ekiti state born musician first formed his own music band in 1954, and in 1956 when Queen Elizabeth the 2nd of the United kingdom visited Nigeria, his music band was chosen to play at the state Hall.
When Nigeria became an independent nation, in 1960, they also played at the state hall.
The footprints of Dr Victor Abimbola Olaiya was well printed in the sands of time, may the soul of the husband, father and grandfather rest in the bosom of the Lord.
