A twitter user identified as Y. O @yojora, has shared his experiences when he was a youth Corp member and that of his life after service; stating that life in Nigeria is indeed terrible as many people are suffering and languishing in abject poverty and hunger.
In one of his threads he tweeted that during his service days, he wanted to celebrate his birthday so he decided and went to buy two goats which worth 10,000 Naira from a man in Adamawa State and when he paid for the goats the seller started to cry, stating that he had never held such large amount of money in his life.
Moving on to another thread, @yojora tweeted that, after his days as a Corp member, he got a job and then got to discover that some Co- workers earned 7,000 naira per month just to survive while some barely survived with cooperatives loans, so as to make ends meet.
He ended his thread by saying, ‘you’re now wondering how some people can’t save, their entire savings mostly goes to take care of needs, not even emergencies’.
@yojora calls on privilege Nigerians to be thankful and as well be aware of the plight of the other common man on the street.
Most Nigerians have reacted to @yojora tweets, adding that the rate of poverty in the land is alarming and calls for immediate attention, some went ahead to narrate their own experiences of what poverty is like at various stages of their live and also of, other disheartening plight of people living in absolute poverty in various places in Nigeria.
