A Former Member of the Rivers State House of Assembly and a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Asari Toru LGA, Hon Chief Micheal West, has announced his resignation from the party.
The ex lawmaker who expressed his decision in a letter to the PDP Chairman in charge of his ward cited alleged neglect and lack of recognition from the party hierarchy in his ward as reason for his resignation.
West who served as a commissioner for transport under Governor Nyesom Wike said;
“I have noticed with dismay that when it is time for election, I am usually remembered and cheered on to go and take and defend the bullets of the opposition and deliver victory. Immediately after, I am relegated.”
The former commissioner further stress;
“I regret to inform you that I cannot continue to endure this type of repeated relegation and humiliation. l have, therefore, resigned from the party as to move on with my life.”
