Super Eagles’ captain, John Mikel Obi is back to training after leading Nigeria to a group stage exit at the just concluded FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The midfielder had earlier sprained his arm in Nigeria’s 2-0 win against Iceland last month, playing the rest of the tournament with a protective band.
He missed Tianjin Teda 1-0 loss to Shanghai Shenhua on Wednesday but returned to training Thursday ahead of Saturday’s clash against struggling Chongqing SWM.
The Eagles’ captain, who wore a protection on his arm took to his Instagram official page after Thursday’s training session to say that he was fit and better.
“Back at it again. #TianjinTeda,” Mikel wrote.
However, his return will be a big boost to Tianjin Teda who will hope to bounce back from their 1-0 loss to Shanghai and get a win against Chongqing this weekend.
