Dr. Osagie Ehanire, Nigeria’s Minister of Health, on Thursday during a press conference, urged Nigerians to give out their buildings as isolation Centers.

The Minister while speaking to the press, during the press briefing of the presidential task force on COVID-19 in Abuja, said that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control’s (NCDC) target is to test up to two million people for the coronavirus in the next three months, which will require more buildings as Isolation Centers.
He started in his speech that;
“I have appealed to citizens to make their property available temporarily for this purpose. I am sure that after that, there are many property owners who will come up and donate to state governments for a period of time to be used for this function.
“We are not out of space now but we are making the appeal ahead of time so that we have these facilities ready.”
Speaking on the hazard allowance which is to be given to workers who are the people at the front-line of the COVID-19 fight, the minister said that the amount for the allowance is still being negotiated.
He added that the 15 laboratories in Nigeria have reached a testing capacity of 2500 facilities.
