One Abduljabbar Muh’d (@Abduljbr) has taken to social media to reveal how Bauchi state Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar makes over N91Million from ghost workers.
According to Abduljabbar, the state Transition Committee uncovered the scam perpetrated by governor.
He disclosed that the governor employed a total number of 1161 ghost workers to the State Civil Service on 24th July 2015 and they will all retire in July 2023 after ghosting for 8years.
He wrote on his twitter page;
“SCAM UNCOVERED
The Bauchi State Transition Committee has uncovered a scam perpetrated by
@GovMAA and cronies. A total number of 1161 ghost workers were employed to the State Civil Service on 24th July 2015 and they will all retire in July 2023 after ghosting for 8years.”

Abduljabbar further revealed that different names, dates of birth, qualifications, bank accounts were used by the governor but they all have the same Bank Verification Number (BVN), meaning that all their salaries goes into one and same account.
According to his calculation, a total sum of N91,051,608.43 monthly goes into an account of the governor.
He wrote;
“They have different names, dates of birth, qualifications, bank accounts but they all have the same BVN meaning that all their salaries goes into one and same account. A total sum of N91,051,608.43 monthly goes into an account of a single individual. Cc: @officialEFCC.”

Abduljabbar further stressed that names of prominent people and politicians in the state were all included on the Ghost Workers list.
He wrote;
“Among the names on the Ghost Workers list of @GovMAA are names of prominent people and politicians in Bauchi State like Mal. Isa Yuguda, Sagir Aminu Saleh, Sen Babayo Garba Gamawa, Prof Sani Malami, Barr Sa’ad Zadawa, Barr Mukhtar Abubakar etc.”

But Prof Sani Malami went on to publish on his WhatsApp and Facebook page that he’s not a Ghost Worker and has nothing to do with the said account number and BVN attached to his name on the list.
“Just few minutes ago, Prof Sani Malami has published on his WhatsApp and Facebook page that He’s not a Ghost Worker and has nothing to do with the said account number and BVN attached to his name on the list. He also calls on others to come out public and clear their names,” Abduljabbar wrote.

However, the development raised a lot of dust and got Nigerians talking.

“There was no single recruitment by M.A. Maybe he added the ghost workers during the numerous verification exercise he carried out. Reason the wage bill increased from 2.5bn to 4bn.”

“@YakubDogara said something like this b4 election, where he even said @GovMAA shud take him to court if he think he (@YakubDogara) dont have all the neccessary evidence.”

“Call the Bank out, no need for dilly dally. Some one uploads the payments on the Salary platform enabled by the bank. No one found it useful to escalate this . Please start with the Bank. Sometimes we are our own problem. Can you imagine that?”

“And look at how complicit the banks are in all this? Under normal circumstances, the fine that will be imposed on the bank is type that will force them to close business and send a message to other banks, but them, this won’t even make the news.”

“This maybe one the reason why@Gov.MA refused to recruit a single Bauchi indigene into the state civil service through out his tenure as a Governor of the state. what a shame?”

“This is nothing new to Nigerians… Now you’re uncovering fraud and making noise… When you fully take over and people start uncovering your own fraud, hope you’ll not start arresting people?”
