The Super Eagles of Nigeria losing 2-1 to England on Saturday at Wembley stadium was received with mixed feelings across the country.
Goals from Gary Cahill and Harry Kane — keeping up his record of scoring in every game he’s captained England — were enough despite a second-half response from Alex Iwobi, to see off the Eagles at Wembley.
England took the lead in the seventh minute, Cahill rising above the Nigeria defence from an outswinging Kieran Trippier corner, muscling a header into the top corner from around 10 yards out.
The lead was doubled not long before the break, when Sterling slipped a pass to Kane on the edge of the box. Kane shot with power but more or less straight at Francis Uzoho in the Nigeria goal, who seemed to mistime his dive and let the ball bounce in off his knee.
Nigeria emerged from half-time looking like a different team, and they pulled a goal back after only two minutes: Odion Ighalo shot against the post, it rebounded straight to Alex Iwobi and the Arsenal man tucked his effort into the corner.
After the game, Nigerians took to hitvibz Social media page and twitter to share their views about Gernot Rohr side, demanding the elimination of Onazi and Joel Obi from the Nigerian team.

My points from the match, I'm not a football analyst so bear with me.
1. Send Onazi and Joel Obi home. Onazi is too clumsy to be a midfielder almost like the Bakayoko of a certain club while I'm yet to see the usefulness of Joel. Wizkid would be a better addition.

Truths from the first half;
– Uzoho was decent but still shaky,
– Joel Obi should be sent back to Nigeria,
– Onazi is a big problem,
– Iwobi lacks good decision making,
– No collection between Brian & Moses,
– Midfield was a borehole, too much space. #PoojaFootball

How can onazi and joel obi call themselves midfielders?, baffling!, they both were practically running away from the ball.

Here are more reactions from Hitvibz page…
So, rumours have it that Ola Aina and Mikel Agu have been dropped, while Echiejile, Onazi and Joel Obi are in the final 23? Wonderful!! Isn't it just brilliant? Surely, it is!! pic.twitter.com/feDA24dcNx

Meanwhile, Nigeria is yet to beat England after three meetings and was hoping to avenge the 1-0 loss suffered on November 16, 1994, but lost 2-1 to tje Three Lions. The best result for the Super Eagles against the England was a 0-0 draw in group D of the 2002 Korea/Japan World Cup.
